Minors don't get to choose. Decisions of that nature are made based on the legal theory of ';best interests of the child';. However, if she specifically asks the court, they will almost always accede to her wishes unless it specifically violates the best interests standard. For example, he mother is a convicted felon and a crack prostitute while her dad is a normal guy.
