Here is one of my favourites:
CANADIAN CAKE
1 cup butter
1陆 cups sugar
4 eggs, beaten
3 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk
1 tsp lemon extract
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
Cream butter, sugar and eggs until smooth. Add flour and baking powder with milk alternately to creamed mixture. Then add other ingredients. Bake at 350掳 F for 50 minutes in a greased and floured bundt pan.
This cake has almost a pound cake texture. You can top with seasonal berries %26amp; whipped cream.
Hope you enjoy it!What could I bake for my parent's Anniversary?
Poor man's pie. And the easiest. 1-cup sugar; 1-cup flour; 1-cup milk; 1-stick butter ( melted ); 1-egg; 1 to 1 1/2 cans of peaches, apples or whatever fruit you think they like. Mix sugar;flour;milk;butter;egg in a bowl. Pour the mixture in a 1 1/2 quart glass cooking bowl; ( it will be soupy ) Then spoon the fruit in the mixture ( don't mix the fruit, just lay it in the mixture. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 for a hour. Or until the crust is a golden brown. The center is not going to spring back like a cake. This will look alot like a cobbler. Good with ice cream.
What about a cake? You could make a cake and decorate it with ';Happy ( ) Anniversay (fill in their names)! If you can find out what kind of wedding cake they had and recreate it somewhat looks wise that would be super. Or you could just have your parents over for dinner. A good site for recipes is http://www.allrecipes.com I use it all the time.
