What are the effects of single parent dating habits on their children?

I have a friend who is a single mom to three boys all under the age of 10. In the last 2 years she has dated 4 men who she fell in love with quickly and made them part of her children's lives. The boys bonded to each one and then suffered when the relationships ended. I was wondering if there are any good studies or books on the long-term effects of this pattern on the children.What are the effects of single parent dating habits on their children?
Nothing good comes of that. Eventually the kids will refuse to get close to anyone. It really messes with their heads.





I think eventually they will all start acting out their pain. You have to remember, every time one of those guys leaves her the children feel rejection. It's hard to build confindence when you feel like you are the reason no one will stay.

Not so sure about boys but with girls it can cause them to cling on the men figures in their life resulting in bad relationships and promiscuity..
the children might become territorial with thier mother after a pattern like this.
That behavior has been show to negatively impact a child. I did not introduce my fiance to my son until I had dated him for six months and had an engagement ring on my finger. Do a google search on the topic or check amazon and a bunch of books on dating as a single parent come up.
