Who is social security for, the child or parent?

If the child movs out who gets the check?Who is social security for, the child or parent?
The check is for the child. If you are receiving a check for your child and the child is living with someone else, you may want to think about letting the other person receive the check for the child. The check must be used to meet the current needs of the child. If the child is not returning you cannot use the check to pay your bills. If you do it would be considered misuse of the child's check and you will be made to repay the money to Social Security.Who is social security for, the child or parent?
What? If the parent is caring for a child and the child is under 18 (or maybe older if a full time student, I don't know) then they both should be entitled to a benefit, which probably comes in one check of direct deposit. The parent or representative payee should have received an award letter stating the amount of each benefit and the family maxium. However, if the child is no longer living with the parent, then the parent is no longer entitled. The best place to get the answer is the social security 800 number, which should be among the records.
the parent just like child support.the parent still should get the check until the child gets 18 i think...
