What age can children move out of their parent's home?

I have a cousin that is 17, she lives in a bad situation. There are at least 8 ppl living in a three bdrm home, I can and will take her in, but what if her handicap mother protests. Does she have a right to leave that home and come to another that is big enough to shelter her properly? We live in texas.What age can children move out of their parent's home?
You really need to look into state law. But with the situation and 8 ppl in house I really don't think the mother will say anything because social services is liable to get involved. who cares what the law says? this is your flesh and blood rotting away, if you can provide a better situation for this person then by all means do it
Whenever they are ready. Usually it's by the time they are in college.
I think 17 is old enough. I think it depends on state law though. She should go to Dept of Social Services and ask to become an emancipated minor. They will tell her what the laws are.

I believe it is 18.
I don't know about the rest of the U.S. but you are leaglly able to move out of your parents house at the age of 18. But most people wait until they are in college...a few years after they graduate from high school.

depends on your states law. i mean 18 would be the legal age to move out although shes not that far behind.
The age under the law is 18, after 18, the parents aren't responsible for what their kids does anymore.

i think it's any age they feel necessary, i believe it's called emancipation... definitely take her in and help her out
