Problems accessing internet with parent control on user account?

my daughter has a user account on our laptop, so i switched on the parent control so she couldn't stumble upon an unsuitable web site, only now she is having trouble getting connected to any internet site, it's more of a problem at certain times,but i've ended up having to switch the parent control off, can anyone offer any advice?Problems accessing internet with parent control on user account?
This problem was brought up on watchdog a few weeks back, and the suggestions made was that you should take the laptop back to the shop you bought it from so that they can configure it in store. The parental control should not affect the workability of the laptop. Personally I'd first call my internet provider, as you say it only happens at certain times, and ask if there is congestion on the site at those times.Problems accessing internet with parent control on user account?

What trouble, specifically, is she having? Is it not connecting at all or clearly being blocked by the software as if she were visiting an unsavory site?

Alternatively checking the manual that came with the software (either a physical copy or a PDF that's loaded on the CD/was installed when the software was) may provide you with some insight.
on vista when in parent control you can set the level to each separate


user account


go into parental control


click vista web filter, here you can fine tune what sites are allowed


i have mine on medium for my daughters


but even then its not 100%

Just a quick thought, does the parental control work on setting an age group?


Might be that you have to review the age group the level of restriction


Often I find this to be the case if you cannot access website with parental controls
