What do you mean???Why does Society consider biracial children black when one parent is biracial themselves?
1) 1 drop rule
2) Most mullatoes tend to look more Black
3) The only time Whites seem to care about the White half of a half Black person is when they are successful. Blacks claim them all the time; whites only when it is convenient
You don't see them claiming the ones in prisonWhy does Society consider biracial children black when one parent is biracial themselves?
I understand that because most people ( especially the non-black) always consider the biracial black as the normal black, because of their skin which isn't white. I know many black people think obama looked like his white mom but I also know many white people who find obama looked like his dad just because he hasn't got pure white skin.
Because we aren't all color blind yet.
Personally I don't though. It doesn't even register. For instance, I think Rosario Dawson is the hottest girl in the world. She is Puerto-Rican, Afro-Cuban, Irish, and Native-American. For years I didn't know this. I never saw her as a black girl or a white girl. I just saw her, I guess. Similar with Alica Keys, when she first came out I assumed she was mixed and that's how I saw her. When I see Obama, I see him as mixed.
In regards to that comment up there... If Alicia Keys went to prison... my opinion of her wouldn't change. And Obama is pissing me off with his communist tobacco ban, but I'm still ';claiming'; him.
If yu ever want to know where you fit in in the world ask yourself one question; where would I not want to go by myself.?
That ought to tell you what race and culture you would most likely be recognized as.
For example..Alicia Keys is Black %26amp; White BUT she loooks more BLACK so society identifies her as a Black woman
Mariah is considered mixed because you cant visually tell what she is
Because of the ';one drop rule'; invented by whites. Even though it isn't legally enforced anymore, people are still used to it go by it.
According to white people, if you have just a little bit of black in you, then you're black.
Because 9 times out of ten they still are identified as black
because of the civil era where if you had any black in you you were seen as black according to white people.
The one drop rule and for the most part most of them look black.
NO! I'm considered multiracial i don't like being called black or white!
because it goes by what race you identify with as far as looks go
