Can a parent take away things they didn't buy?

I want to know if my mom can take a way stuff (cell phone, computer) that my dad bought for me (there divorced) if he doesnt agree with why im in trouble in the first place? Can a parent take away things they didn't buy?
If she has custody, yes she can take everything away no matter who bought it. The law is on her side on this one.Can a parent take away things they didn't buy?
I think that if you are being punished for something you did wrong it would be ok.

Put yourself in your mom's place. She lives with you I assume and knows what is going on in the house. Maybe your dad does not know the whole story. She can feel by taking away the items your dad gave you for a while will stop you from doing whatever you did again.

I don't know the situation but it is hard to raise children and when people get divorced even harder. Give your mom a break she is only trying to do what she feels is best. She wants you to grow up a respectable and good person.

I know you are probably a good kid and things happen. We all make mistakes but try to see your mom's point of view too. She loves you otherwise she would not care at all about what you do.

Warm Regards

by law if she did not buy it then it is not hers to take, the only possible thing she can d when it comes to a computer is say to unplug it as in order to use it you have to use her electricity.

My half brother actually had the same problem, my dad would buy him stuff and his mom would take it and my dad hit the roof because the stuff if bought with his money not hers so she has no right to take it and my dad actually contacted the person that delt with the whole custody arrangement and child support,etc.. and he said that she is not allowed to take things bought by my dad
Well, if you live with your mom, which I'm assuming you do, she's paying for the house you live in. That also means she's paying for the electricity you power the computer with. As for your cell phone... well, think of it this way. She's your mom. She can pretty much do whatever she wants until you move out. :/ Sorry.
umm...... i don't think they can take stuff away that's not theres even if they gave it to u they shouldn't because they GAVE it to yoouu they might not let u use the computer or watch tv because they own those things

;)

hope it helps.
if its in her home under her roof she has the right to take away privelages no matter what she is the parent and what she says is law
Yes, she can.You are under her roof so you have to comply.

If your dad doesn't agree with it then he can recover the items himself for you.
Yes. Your mom is your guardian and has the right to make the rules. Try to stay out of trouble.
Yes, your mom can do that - it is called being a parent.
