Can I buy Grand Theft Auto IV without a parent?

Grand Theft Auto IV is going to be one of the greatest games no doubt about it. But its rated Mature and my parents probably wouldn't agree with all the stuff in it. So I would like to buy it buy myself. Is it possible I can do this without an adult. By the way, I'm 14 yrs. old.Can I buy Grand Theft Auto IV without a parent?
Why not wait till you are old enough to get it and it will be cheaper by then. Oh by the way you are showing how mature you are by going behind your parents back. Maybe you should ask them frist and if they say no respect they wishes it payoff someday. Can I buy Grand Theft Auto IV without a parent?
Maybe you should boot up your other games and give it a spin rather than buying this game on day one. Just because it's new doesn't mean you have to be playing it.

If you really want it, try asking your parents nicely and see if they are willing to give that to you on your (upcoming) birthday or when you do well on your grades. Be honest about what this game is so that they won't be surprised from the sale clerk.. cus that's going to backfire on you.

Also, try give those 10% off coupon Bestbuy has been mailing out to your dad/mom too. I am sure that will help. Who doesn't like to save a buck or two?

Lastly, be responsible for yourself. If you are to buy this game under age, you better be mature enough to know what is real and what is not. Don't go out and shoot people, ok?
This depends on which store you shop at and if the store doesn't have set policy, it will depend on the clerk selling it to you.

But if your parents don't agree with this stuff, you should try to convince them first. I know the rating thing is somewhat of a BS, but I don't trust teenage ppl anymore with any type of violence related influence as they tend to go ape sh!t for the weirdest reason.
I really doubt it. First you will have to be 17. If you look young they will ask for ID. You really need to buy it? Just ask your parents really nicely. If they are nice they will get you. Also you should ask your relatives. For a present they'll get you it. My best guess is dont try anything funny. It can get you in a lot of trouble.
Probably the easiest way would be to pick up a gift card (for like circuit city or just a general visa or whatever) and then go home and order it online. If you're worried about your parents finding it in the mail you can do a couple of things. You can either have it mailed to a friends house with more relaxed parents or you can order something else with the game that will be shipped with it. That way if your parents are like ';what's that?'; you don't have to fully lie.

but yeah unless you really look older it'll be difficult with out being carded... but some stores don't and why not give the whole ';i left my id in my car'; a try
I've been reading news stories on the internet, theres a lot of stuff going on about the whole age restrictions and ****. I think everywhere is going to be extra cautious.

I'm 16 but I pre-ordered mine online with my debit card and theres no age thing so it's all good for me! :D

Good luck though, happy playing for tomorrow
Buy it on Craigslist or Ebay, or online.

Stores wont sell it to you. Unless you get lucky and find someone who just doesnt care. But you'll be hard pressed to find that with this game considering all the controversy that goes into these games But those are my suggestions. Your next question should be how do you keep it from your parents...

Answer: Hide it and play it at night or when they arnt home.
It is kids like you that ruin it for adults like me. Games intended for adults are censored because kids are able to get their hands on them. Your efforts to play GTA IV now may well impede your ability to play GTA V as an adult. You are helping Jack Thompson win.
No you probably cant...u need an id...however if you go to a private game store...they will let you...i have one next to my house and they let me buy anything......if its a company like gamestop, walmart. EB games....they will ask u for ur id...
You can buy online with credit card or debit card or prepaid debit card.
At all electronic stops, they will ask that you have a parent to say that it's ok for you to buy the game. It sucks, but it's the law.
Nope, unless you know the person behind the counter.
i dont know...maybe if you look older than 18 they wont ask u. you could find some one who is 18 or maybe you know someone who is 18 and they can buy it for u.
If any store does and your parents find out - that store could face HUGE fines.
get an older friend or friends older sibling or older someone u know
Nope, you will need a parent there with you.
