The BEST would probably be McCain, because he's such a family-type guy. He's the kind of person anyone can feel comfortable around.

To be a great role model. If it is a step mom she should be the women she wants her female child to become and the woman she wants her male son to marry. A man should be just the opposite.What is the most important role a step-parent can play in a step-child's life?

During my childhood, with one step-father and many step-mothers, it seemed as if they all had one thing in common. They never seem to accept me for me.
Realize that you are the adult.. and they are the child. Understand that they will be adjusting and normally fight you just because of who you are. Be fair, be the adult, and include them in everything and you will be fine. It doesn't hurt to treat them like an adult instead of a child (in matters of responsibility too)
to know you care and to be understanding of who they are...
Let the biological parent do most of the disaplining, but also make it clear that you are an adult , and when the child is in your house, it is your rules, and make sure your spouse backs you on this and make sure the child knows that he/ she must show respect for you. In turn make sure you also respect the child, and gain some understanding of blended families. Child hood is hard and having blended families can sometime increase stress and anger. Just be a strong and positive role model. It is a long hard job, but it can be done. Both of you will benifit from this. Good luck!

They're going to want an adult person, either 18 or 21, depending on the state where you live, to pay for the room, leave a credit card number for insurance against damages, and promise to not leave you unsupervised. No matter how much money you raise, this isn't going to work.
divide the bill by whoever is coming... no present but you'll have your party. for ex: 10 people coming. everyone pays $28.. so more people less everyone has to pay. Just be sure to collect the money upfront so that you can pay for the room!
At your age I HIGHLY doubt your parents would let you do it on your own BUT one suggestion is having a parent stay in another room close by incase there was an emergency! That way you have your privacy and your parents are ok with the idea!

Your local health department should be able to do all the necessary tests that you need without any cost to you. I am a college student and the health department here does everything for free. Pregnancy tests, birth control, annual exams....everything is free. You need to go to the planned parenthood for a test. They'll give a printout for DFACS and tell you where to go from there. You will be able to get Pregnancy medicaid more than likely and your doctor's bills will be paid for. You are also emancipated when you become pregnant. A lot of people don't know that, or at least you are in GA. The only time you need parental consent is when you are admitted to a hospital. Just use someone else's address for medicaid because it will come right to your house if you don't.

Make sure that the child feels comfortable with talking to the judge though or they may go in and blow it by saying what you or your spouse wants to hear instead of what they really want. At 16, the child can then have a job and not really even have to visit the other parent if they don't really want to.

When I was 16 and 17 and finally driving on my own I went to the dentist, doctor, and dermatologist alone whenever I had an appointment. If there were papers that needed to be signed by a legal guardian all they did was give them to me to give to my parents, or they mailed them.
I'm not aware if things like this differ by state, but I'm not sure why they would.
Also, if a legal guardian has to be present at the office with you, it is perfectly acceptable (and normal) for the parent to wait in the waiting room. Someone else mentioned on here as well: all information presented to a doctor has to be kept confidential under law.

myspace IS NOT only for teens. but it is an odd when a parent has one. especially when more than 3/4 of her friends are kids! and she has like 140 friends. sorry, there is a mom on myspace from my hi school. and she doesn't like me even tho she did at one time. well she copied and evil comment off my page, which i deleted as soon as i could so no one would see it and she pasted it to her son's page saying: hahahahahahhaaha amanda sucks! and this is a 34 year old Mother of five! to me she acts very immature and tries to be hip and cool and everything. but i don't like her. i also have a mom as a friend on myspace, she is my friend's mother, but we don't talk much, and she doesn't use her myspace much.
